Commuters stranded as commercial drivers shut down Lagos

in Alimosho area of Lagos, were stranded for hours, on Wednesday, as commercial drivers shut down the area in protest.

The protest which started in the morning at major bus-stops was against extortion by law enforcement agents particularlly Task Force and Lagos State Management Authority (LASTMA).

The aftermath of the protest led to dome commuters trekking to their various destinations after been stranded as a result of the protest.

Similar protest occured at Cele Bus-stop following the protest against Extortion of commercial drivers by Taskforce and LASTMA official.

As the protests bite hard, the Chairman, Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Shola Jejeloye, was said to have met with the leaders of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alimosho Branch, where some of the differences creating frictions were ironed out.

Area visited by the Chairman were Iyana Ipaja, Egbeda, Igando and Iba, where he pleaded with the protesters to return to work.
