Suspected thief burgles government house, cart away vehicle
CITIZENS COMPASS— A suspected thief yesterday, reportedly burgled the Kano State Government House carting away a Toyota Hilux.
The vehicle was said to be among the ones in the convoy of the deputy governor before it was stolen at about 5a.m.
Eye witnesses’ accounts said the suspect gained entry through Gate 4 and escaped through the main gate without hindrance.
CCTV footage later reviewed by security officials confirmed the route of escape.
Citizens Compass gathered that the incident created confusion among the workers attached to the deputy governor.
Some of the workers attributed the incident to laxity and a porous security network.
A Close Circuit Television (CCTV) however captured the incident and the Police launched a manhunt leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The Chief press secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday saying the stolen vehicle had been recovered.
