Tinubu sets date for Fubara to resume as Rivers governor 

CITIZENS COMPASS—All things being equal, President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, directed Governor Siminalayi Fubara to resume his position as Rivers State Governor.

Fubara will resume his position on Thursday and this brought an end to the lifted six-month emergency rule in the State.

In a statement issued by the State House, the president also ordered Deputy Governor Ngozi Nma Odu and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resume their official duties immediately.

The state had been under emergency rule for the past six months following heightened political tensions and security concerns.

Meanwhile, there was a mild drama at the premises of the Rivers State Government House Port Harcourt, as security personnel attached to the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas, staged a protest against nonpayment, settlement by the outgoing Administrator.
