Adigun added that the idea marks a transition from passive observation to active participation, signalling that Lagos youth are now organised, informed, and ready to play a decisive role in political processes.
According to him, the movement defines itself as a civic and advocacy platform rather than a political party, built on evidence, accountability, and deliberate engagement.
“With an extensive structure covering all 20 LGAs and 37;LCDAs, including ward coordinators and media teams,
” KOH YA presents itself as a well-coordinated and statewide force aimed at influencing leadership choices through organised action.
“A major highlight of our mandate is the group’s endorsement of Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election,” he said.
Adigun said that the endorsement is based on his record in digital transformation, infrastructure development, national service, and demonstrated political maturity.
He stressed that the group decision was grounded in verifiable achievements and not emotional or political pressure.
The group also declared support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, citing his administration’s policies on youth inclusion, digital economy growth, student loans, and broader economic reforms.
KOH YA expressed confidence in the continuity of current policies as a pathway to long-term national development while acknowledging existing challenges.
Adigun outlined KOHYA’s action plans, including leadership mobilisation, statewide grassroots engagement, digital advocacy, and community outreach.
He called on Lagos youth to see themselves as active stakeholders in governance, emphasising that the movement exists to transform youth participation into real political influence and to drive the vision of a “Greater Lagos” ahead of 2027.

He said the youths have done something today which means they will never be forgotten, they were the largest population and as such they need to be considered during decision making, “hence I valued what they are doing today”.
“Hamzat is a very passionate person who thinks about development of Lagos but not someone who thinks about himself alone,” he said.
In his remarks, Ms Itunuoluwa Soniregun, one of the selected ambassadors advocated for young people inclusion in governance. ” We are the generation that will inherit every decision made so we need to be carried along,” she said.
