
Council chairman slumps in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS– The Chairman of Bariga Local Government in Lagos State, Kolade Alabi, has collapsed while addressing some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s secretariat in Acme, Ikeja, Lagos,.
Alabi who doubles as Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), was later revived and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m., while Alabi was delivering a speech to party members.
Some chieftains of the party were said to be present at the scene which caused panic among those present.
Some attributed the incident to fatigue as a result of the upcoming Local Government election of July 12, 2025.
The slump occurred a few weeks after the former chairman of Ipaja-Ayobo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs. Bolatito Shobowale, died after a prolonged illness.
