
Ex-Governor slumps, dies in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS– Six months after he celebrated his 70th birthday, a former Nigerian Minister of Special Duties and retired Navy Captain, Caleb Olubolade, has died.
He last celebrated his birthday on
November 30, 2024.
He was a former military administrator of Bayelsa State.
According to a statement issued by his children, Akinadewo and Dayo Olubolade, Olubolade collapsed suddenly while playing lawn tennis on Sunday evening in the Apapa area of Lagos.
Despite swift intervention by nearby medical personnel, efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was confirmed dead on arrival at the Obisesan Naval Medical Hospital.
The deceased served as Minister of Special Duties under President Goodluck Jonathan and had a notable career in the Nigerian Navy, where he rose to the rank of captain before retiring. He also briefly governed Bayelsa State as its military administrator during the military era
