Traditional medicine practitioners ask members to stop supporting Yahoo boys, criminals
CITIZENS COMPASS– The National Association of Nigeria Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP), Kogi State chapter, has warned it’s members to stop aiding and abetting internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys and other criminal elements in the State.
Chairman of the Association in Kogi State, His Royal Highness, Chief Ibrahim Amodu, disclosed this over the weekend while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja.
He stated that criminals now commit crime with the aid of some members of the association, citing the ‘Yahoo Plus boys’ as an example.
Amodu warned that the association’s new code of practice prohibits practitioners from aiding and abetting such criminal acts as it is capable of destroying the corporate image of the body.
He lauded the Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Gajere Dantawaye, the Director, State Security Service, Commandant, Civil Defense Corps and other security agencies for being alive to their responsibilities.
Amodu noted that the continued traditional medicine should be used for good intentions and not for evil.
“Members are advised to abide by the code of practice. Any member found wanting would be made to face the full wrath of the law by facing prosecution accordingly.
“Let me stress at this point once again that all practitioners are expected to abide by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as well as that of NANTMP, with particular reference to Article 46 of the NANTMP Constitution.
“My leadership has put up a task force to check the conduct of traditional medicine practitioners, just as some are alleged to be working with Yahoo boys, etc. Anyone found in such an act will have himself to blame,” Amodu warned.
