CITIZENS COMPASS– A woman has narrated how her new landlord refunded her rent upon detecting that she was unmarried.
The woman took to her X Handle to narrate her experience which generated mixed reactions.
The woman on her social media handle, @Ajokeaadee, said her new landlord refunded her rent in full and asked her to vacate the apartment simply because she is single and a Christian.
She said her ordeal took place after the property changed ownership.
According to her, the new landlord, a woman, was furious upon discovering that the caretaker had rented one of her apartments to a single woman who practices Christianity, particularly of the white garment denomination. This revelation, she claimed, prompted the landlord to cancel the tenancy altogether.
“So, my new landlord refunded my payment in full yesterday because she didn’t know the caretaker rented her apartment to a single lady.
“She doesn’t want a single lady or a Christian in her building! (White garment people especially). Some Lagos landlords are not renting out their property to you if you’re single?? Oh wow! 💔”
The post has attracted criticisms from some social media users.
