
Police postpone arraignment of most wanted hired killer in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS—Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, said it has postponed the arraignment of an alleged most wanted hired killer in the State.
The suspect, Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso, was arrested about three weeks ago for allegedly terrorising Mushin and its environs.

Olori Eso’s most recent operation was the alleged shooting of two youths who were fighting in the area.
Spokesperson for the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, on his official social media platform said, “We regret to inform you that this will not hold anymore today. We will announce a new date in due course. Apologies for all inconveniences caused.”
The 44-year-old on noticing the fight was said to have rushed to his house, reached for his gun and shot the youths.
This created panic in the area.
He was thereafter arrested by the Police.
Citizens Compass reported that spokesperson for the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed to newsmen that the suspect would be arraigned on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Ebute-Meta Magistrate Court.
The Police described Wasiu’s arrest as a significant breakthrough in its relentless fight against crime of violence and other criminalities in the state.
Wasiu Akinwande was arrested in his hideout in the Agbado area of Ogun State after several attempts by the Police Tactical Squadron to apprehend him.
Wasiu is said to be responsible for organizing and executing a series of armed robberies, cold blooded murders, kidnappings and cult-related killings whose reign of terror instilled fear and apprehension in residents and posed a dangerous threat to law and order.
