CITIZENS COMPASS—The esteemed Adefaka Family, a notable branch of the Abibiri Ruling House of Isolo and the Ojijigogu Ruling House of Akure in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, extends heartfelt congratulations to His Imperial Majesty Oba Alhaji Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on his recent ascension as the new Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Oyo State.
This significant milestone follows the endorsement by Governor Seyi Makinde of Ladoja’s nomination by the Olubadan-in-Council, in accordance with the traditions of this self-regulated kingdom.
In a statement dated Thursday, August 21, 2025, issued by the family’s Secretary/Spokesman, Prince Bashir Adefaka, the Chairman and Head of the Adefaka Family, Prince Babatunde Adefaka, expressed that the elevation of Ladoja to the position of Olubadan is divinely ordained.
Prince Adefaka stated, “The approval of His Excellency, Alhaji Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan Land has been ordained by God The Almighty. His journey, from First Appointment as a Chief within the Royal Lineage of Ibadan Land to his role as the Democratically Elected Governor of Oyo State, and his exemplary business and moral standings with the Ibadan people and Nigerians at large, showcases his steadfast commitment to our community.”
He further added that, “It is no surprise to his associates that he has reached the highest seat of royalty in his birthplace. Your Excellency, and now Your Imperial Majesty, The New Olubadan of Ibadan Land, we congratulate you on this noble and royal appointment by the Almighty God, now formalized by His Excellency Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State.”
It will be recalled that Oba Rashidi Ladoja played a role conspicuously mourning and standing with the Adefaka Family during the trying period of losing their patriarch, Alhaji Kasumu Yesufu Daniel Adefaka, who passed away on Saturday January 4, 2025 in Isolo, Akure South.
“Congratulations, Your Imperial Majesty,” Prince Babatunde Adefaka saluted the new Ibadan Paramount Ruler, who will be formally crowned in Ibadan on Friday Saturday September 26, 2026.
