Ode-Idahosa celebrates Edo at 34

CITIZENS COMPASS—The Secretary-General, Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) African Continental, Sir JP Hamzaosa Ode-Idahosa, on Wednesday, congratulates the people of Edo State on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the State.

He congratulated the people in a statement personally signed by him and made available to Citizens Compass.

Ode-Idahosa said the State is one of Nigeria’s most culturally vibrant, intellectually rich, and politically significant states

According to him, “On this special occasion of the 34th anniversary of Edo State, I extend my warmest congratulations to the government, traditional institutions, and the good people of our great state.

“Edo State was officially created on August 27th, 1991, following its separation from the former Bendel State. Since that historic moment, Edo has grown to become one of Nigeria’s most culturally vibrant, intellectually rich, and politically significant states. From the ancient walls of the Benin Kingdom to the modern-day strides in education, arts, and enterprise, our story is one of resilience and reinvention.

“As a proud son of Edo and a servant of the people, I salute the tireless efforts of our elders, leaders, traditional rulers, and citizens who have continued to preserve our heritage while pushing for progress in all sectors.

“Today, as we mark 34 years of existence, let us reflect on how far we’ve come—and more importantly, recommit ourselves to the future we desire, a future rooted in unity, justice, good governance, innovation, and youth empowerment.

“Let this celebration ignite a renewed passion in every Edo son and daughter at home and in the Diaspora—to work together for the betterment of our land. We must stand firm against division, corruption, underdevelopment, and injustice.

“Together, we can achieve greater heights.”
