Police arrest three suspects, recover stolen vehicles

 

CITIZENS COMPASS—The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects and recovered two stolen vehicles in two separate cases of motor vehicle theft.

The three suspects were reportedly involved in organised criminal activities.

Spokesperson for the Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this on Friday, in a statement.

“On 30th August 2025, a Toyota Corolla (2013 model, dark ash-colored) was reported stolen on 4th August 2025* at approximately 12:30 PM from a car stand located at *Katsina Road, Kano State. Following diligent investigations, the suspect, Zubairu Usman, was tracked, and the vehicle was recovered abandoned at Kabuga Flyover, Kano.

On 25th August 2025, a Toyota Hilux was stolen from a residence located at No. 6 Hadejia Road, Kano. Through intelligence-led technical investigations and collaborative efforts with the Taraba State Police Command, the vehicle was recovered from the possession of a car dealer, Yallah Kadara, a 43-year-old male from Taraba State. Kadara confessed to purchasing the vehicle from Alamin Tasiu, identified as the principal offender. Additionally, two accomplices, Jacob Augustine and Sa’adu Bello, were arrested for their involvement in selling the stolen vehicle.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, commended the exceptional diligence and professionalism displayed by the detectives involved in recovering the vehicles and apprehending the suspects. He expressed his gratitude to the public for their continued cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the State. CP Bakori also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station or through the Command’s emergency numbers.
