CITIZENS COMPASS—In her bid to make another world record, popular chef, Hilda Baci’s pot of jollof rice has collapsed.
The world’s largest pot of jollof rice unexpectedly collapsed in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident occurred while being lifted for weighing as captured in a viral video.
A social media user, Chuks, captured the moment on his X Handle.
Chuks criticized Baci for always wanting to beat the world record rather than contributing to the wellbeing of poor Nigerians.
He said rather than cooking to beat the world record with many impoverished Nigerians rushing to have a taste of the meal, he advised her to open a restaurant where the masses would have free meals.
He said the collapse occurred after the jollof rice was ready.
Earlier, Baci, had announced online that she would be attempting to make history for the largest pot of jollof rice ever cooked.
The world pot arrived at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State, on Thursday while the cooking was held on Friday with over 12 Yellow- keg groundnut oil, 200 bags of rice and other ingredients to prepare the jollof rice.
The jollof rice pot was a massive 6×6-metre.
