CITIZENS COMPASS— A burial ceremony has turned sour in Imo State when a vigilante member allegedly pulled the trigger that sent his colleague to an early grave.
The tragic incident occurred in Owerri West Local Government Area of the State during a burial ceremony.
The suspect reportedly hails from Umunjanwoke, Orogwe community.
It was gathered that the burial ceremony was in top gear when he reportedly opened fire with his pump-action gun and killed his colleague identified as Israel Ewuzie, popularly known as “Araka Bullet”.
Eye witnesses said the deceased hailed from Ndegwu area.
At press time, the circumstances leading to the tragic incident could not be established.
Late Ewuzie, described by locals as a committed and fearless vigilante member, was said to have played a key role in maintaining peace and security within the community before his tragic death.
Meanwhile, the suspect has reportedly been taken into custody as police commence investigation into the matter.
