CITIZENS COMPASS—The traditional ruler of Igbogbo Kingdom in Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade 1, Member, Federal House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State, Babajimi Benson and Council Chairman, Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun are among other dignitaries to attend the grand finale of the 8th annual get-together of Oba Adeboruwa Housing Estate in Igbogbo/Baiyeku.
Citizens Compass reports that the event kicked off yesterday, with a football competition between one-bedroom and two-bedroom flats in the Estate located along Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road.
The football competition which was held at the Estate premises in the morning ended in 1-0 in favour of the two-bedroom flat.
It is an annual custom, last year was won by one bedroom.
Speaking with Citizens Compass shortly after the match, Estate Chairman, Lion Hammed Bolaji Musa popularly known as Young Boss, said the event, the 8th of its kind, was aimed at bringing youths together for sporting activities.
According to him, “the achievements and success in the Estate should be ascribed to Almighty Allah for making them possible. Many thanks to our royal father in Igbogbo Kingdom, political and community leaders as well as the opinion shapers in Igbogbo-Baiyeku for being our pillar.
“This is the 8th of its kind and we hope to make it better annually.” He said.
He promised that soon, the Estate premises would wear a new look. “The field will be upgraded soon.”
Other expected dignitaries at the event are Eng Abdulhafis Toriola, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Housing, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun popularly known as AMA, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, chairmen of Community Development Associations (CDAs), under the Community Development Committees (CDC), Zone 4 (IBLCDA) , Igbogbo Platinum Lion’s Club, and a host of others.
Yesterday’s event also featured Karaoke (miming) and Children’s cartoon.
The second day of the annual event continues on Friday, December 26 with free medical check up, product exhibitions and games with the grand finale to be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11a.m.
All activities are to be held within the Estate premises according to the outline of activities signed by the Estate Chairman.
