Lagos LG chair reaffirms commitment to education, distributes 500 free JAMB form

CITIZENS COMPASS— The chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr Adedayo Ladega, on Wednesday, reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to education and youth empowerment in the area.
Ladega made the promise during the distribution of free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB) form to 500 indigent students at the council secretariat in Ikorodu.
“Today, we are not just giving out JAMB forms, we are giving hope and opportunity.
“When we invest in our students, we are building the future of Ikorodu,” he said
The council chairman said that the initiative was part of his administration’s SEED Agenda — Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development and to consolidate on the free GCE forms distributed in Aug. 2025 for seamless admission into tertiary institutions.
According to the chairman, the interventions demonstrate his firm commitment to inclusive governance and his “Prosperity for All” mantra as promised during his campaign, translating policy into tangible benefits for residents of Ikorodu.
Earlier, Mrs Sherifat Ilemobayo, one of the parents commended the chairman on his effort on empowerment and education, adding that this gesture would encourage more Ikorodu youths to choose a career path in education.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the chairman and promised to prepare themselves for a higher score to secure admission into a higher institution of learning and to be a good ambassador of Ikorodu LGA.
During the programme, members of the Ikorodu Deaf Association staged an educative drama to appreciate the chairman’s support and commitment to education and youth development.
Following the performance, the council chairman presented a modern welding machine set to enhance vocational skills and economic independence among members of the association.
Present at the event were members of the Legislative Arm, Management staff, community and political leaders, Deaf Association and parents were all present.
