Suspected armed robber nabbed
CITIZENS COMPASS— Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber, 38-year-old Emmanuel Solomon, in the Egbokodo Itsekiri area of the State.
The arrest followed a distress call.
Spokesperson for the Command, Bright Edafe, disclosed this in his updates on Thursday.
He said the Command recovered a locally fabricated pistol during a related operation.
According to him: On 9 March 2026 at about 0500hrs, a patrol team received a distress call from Egbokodo Itsekiri Community, reporting an attempted armed robbery incident at a private residence. Acting promptly, operatives from ‘A’ division Warri mobilised to the scene and, in collaboration with members of the community, cordoned off the area.
During the operation, one suspect, identified as Emmanuel Solomon, male, aged 38 years, was apprehended within the premises. A thorough search of the surrounding area led to the recovery of a bag containing two double-barreled cut-to-size guns and five live cartridges. Investigation is ongoing.
In a separate development,on March 25, 2026, at about 1300hrs, operatives of the Command’s Raiders Squad, while acting on credible intelligence, carried out a stop-and-search operation along the Benin–Asaba Expressway by Custom Market, Oshimili North Local Government Area.
During the exercise, one Aminu Inusa, male, aged 23 years, was intercepted. A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of one locally fabricated Beretta pistol. The suspect has been taken into custody, and investigation is ongoing.
The Command commends the operatives for their professionalism, swift response, and commitment to duty.
