CITIZENS COMPASS— A lecturer with Kogi State Polytechnic, Mr. Anslem Ojodomo, has reportedly died.
Mr Ojodomo reportedly died barely a month after his colleague, Dr. Barnabas Akuba, died in February shortly after completing his PhD programme.
Ojodomo was said to have collapsed and died yesterday while delivering a lecture to students.
According to a source within the school, the lecturer’s death has caused panic among students and workers in the schoo. ”The incident occurred during a classroom session. The lecturer suddenly slumped while addressing the students, throwing the class into confusion and panic,” a source within the school said.
”He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention but was later confirmed dead despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life.”
”It is more worrisome that both Anslem and Barnabas died after defending their PhD thesis.
”Anslem was in a meeting some hours before going for the lecture. We cannot imagine that a man who was bubbling and full of life in the meeting is now dead,” a member of staff of the institution stated.
At press time, the management of the Polytechnic had yet to issue a statement on the incident as of press time.
