Iran brings down U.S. fighter jet

CITIZENS COMPASS— Iran fighters on Friday, shot down a United States (U.S) F-15E fighter jet.

However, the American forces were able to rescue the pilot and activated a search and rescue mission for another crew member in the fighter jet.

Videos from the scene were monitored on social media as the incident occurred around Khuzestan Province.

The condition of the rescued pilot has not been fully disclosed, while efforts to locate the second crew member are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have reportedly launched their own search operation and even called on civilians to help locate the missing American crew, raising fears that the second pilot could be captured.

The downing of the jet comes amid a broader wave of military exchanges, including missile and drone strikes across the region, with both sides ramping up operations and rhetoric.

With one pilot rescued and another still unaccounted for, the situation remains fluid, and further developments are expected as rescue efforts continue and tensions rise.

It was gathered that the helicopter carrying the recovered pilot was hit by small arms fire.

The crew members on board were said to have been injured while the helicopter landed safely.
