Mechanic reportedly breaks into client’s house, dies to avoid arrest

 

CITIZENS COMPASS— An auto technician on Monday, reportedly broke into his client’s house around the Ogijo in Ikorodu, Ogun State and allegedly died of suicide before being captured.

Citizens Compass gathered that the  deceased was a familiar face in the house before the incident occurred at Alase Otuyelu Mosimi via Ogijo in Sagamu Local Government.

The bungalow building was located in a developing area where the owner worked far away, and the wife was outside the community at the time of the incident.
Eyewitness accounts said the incident occurred at about 11a.m.

Narrating the incident to Citizens Compass, an eyewitness, Mr Abel Kashimawo said the deceased broke into the building through the rooftop. Unfortunately for him, some carpenters sighted him from a neighbouring building and they alerted residents.

Kashimawo said the carpenters noticed that the suspected burglar while awaiting residents to join them, surrounded the bungalow building to ensure that the suspect would be captured.
Also, they noticed that he was a familiar face in the building.

However, out of shame, he resorted to suicide before being captured.

The eyewitness said, “As the residents and carpenters positioned themselves to go inside to capture him, they met his body leaning on the window but nobody could offer an explanation about the circumstances leading to his death.

“I am a member of the community and was surprised at the incident. Police have arrived at the scene to do the needful.” He said.

Video evidence from the scene captured the deceased dressed in a T-shirt and a pair of trousers with a rope suspiciously tied around his neck.

The video captured sympathisers at the scene narrating the incident.

He was said to have mounted a gallon on top of paint buckets and a stool to escape from the house but he was unable to perfect his escape before being sighted by tan explanation. “
