CITIZENS COMPASS— The Council Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has successfully launched the Free Optimal Wellness Outreach Programme, delivering comprehensive healthcare services to over 1,000 residents in Zone 1 of the LCDA.

The outreach was held over the weekend at AUD Primary School, Igbogbo, provided residents with a wide range of professional healthcare services completely free of charge, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to prioritising the health, wellbeing, and dignity of the people under the healthcare component of the HOA GLORY Agenda.

The outreach featured a robust combination of preventive, diagnostic, and treatment-based healthcare interventions designed to address critical health needs within the community.

Residents benefited free medical consultations and treatment by qualified medical professionals, blood pressure checks, blood sugar screening, and Hepatitis B testing.

Others were comprehensive eye examinations and free prescription eyeglasses for eligible beneficiaries, family planning counselling and support services, free distribution of prescribed medications, referral services for patients requiring specialist or advanced medical attention and health education and wellness counselling focused on preventive healthcare and healthy living.

The atmosphere throughout the programme reflected deep appreciation and excitement from residents, particularly among elderly beneficiaries and vulnerable households who described the outreach as timely, impactful, and life-changing.

Many beneficiaries left the venue with free medications, prescription eyeglasses, and renewed confidence in their health and wellbeing, while several residents openly expressed gratitude to the LCDA administration for bringing quality healthcare services directly to the grassroots.

Community leaders and stakeholders who witnessed the exercise commended the initiative, describing it as a practical and compassionate intervention that directly addresses long-standing healthcare challenges within local communities.

Speaking during the outreach, the Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, expressed satisfaction at the overwhelming participation and successful coordination of the programme.

“The health, wellbeing, and happiness of our people remain central to this administration’s vision,” the Chairman stated. “This outreach is not a symbolic gesture. It reflects our commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare becomes more accessible to every resident, regardless of financial status or location.”

He further assured residents that the outreach programme would continue across other zones within the LCDA as part of the administration’s broader healthcare mobilisation strategy.

“This is only the beginning. Under the HOA GLORY Agenda, we will continue to take meaningful healthcare interventions directly to the people, zone by zone and community by community,” he added.
