CITIZENS COMPASS— Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested five suspected members of the Aye Confraternity along the Ago/Festac Bridge axis of the State.

The suspects were arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation carried out as part of an intelligence-led operation along the Ago/Festac Bridge axis of Lagos State.

The operatives intercepted a Toyota Camry XLE saloon car occupied by two suspects, namely Emmanuel John ‘m’, aged 24 years, and David Godwin ‘m’, aged 28 years. A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of substances suspected to be hard drugs. During preliminary interrogation, both suspects confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.

Further investigation led to the arrest of three additional suspected cult members identified as Samuel Owubokiri, ‘m’, aged 25 years; Adetona Seyi, ‘m’, aged 20 years; and David Chigozie ‘m’, aged 25 years. Exhibits recovered from the suspects include military camouflage, two machetes, one battle axe, one knife, 500 SIM cards, five mobile phones, five laptops, charms, and various substances suspected to be hard drugs. The suspects also confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, reassures residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to combating cultism and other violent crimes across the State. He urges members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely and credible information to the Police to aid crime prevention and enhance public safety.
