“The Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF) Worldwide commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and all security agencies involved in the rescue of Oyo pupils and teachers after spending 56 days in captivity.
The rescue of the pupils and teachers has proved that the security apparatus in Nigeria have alot to offer and are determined to keep bandits on their toes.
It would have been disastrous assuming the 39 children and seven teachers could not be rescued, though it was not an easy task for the security apparatus, but they have displayed exceptional character so far.
We sympathise with the Military personnel and civilians whose loved ones died in the process, and we pray that the creator of the universe will comfort them.
We urge Nigerians to keep their spirits high in the fight against terrorism, as YIF is confident that all will be well.
In conclusion, YIF Worldwide urges our traditional leaders to be sensitive, proactive, and report suspicious movements in their communities to the government while they sensitisise residents to be security conscious.
