…Says church ready for revolution
CITIZENS COMPASS— The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Sunday, disclosed the outcome of a meeting with Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
The private meeting occurred shortly after a church service at RCCG Headquarters, Ebute-meta, Lagos State.
The Sunday service doubled as the RCCG National Thanksgiving.
Sowore, the Convener of “Revolution Now” disclosed the outcome on his social media handles saying the cleric offered to pray for him during the meeting.
He attended the service alongside the National Chairman of the AAC, Pastor Samuel Ajeigbe, following an invitation from the church.
According to the activist: The Church of God is ready for the revolution!
We received a warm and enthusiastic reception today at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, after I was introduced to the congregation during the National Thanksgiving Service.
The message of hope, justice, and national renewal continues to resonate everywhere.
Today, on invitation to its National Thanksgiving service, I attended a church service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in @rccghq Ebute Metta, Lagos, alongside the National Chairman of our party, the African Action Congress (@aacparty), Pastor Samuel Ajeigbe.
After the service, I had a private meeting and conversation with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who offered to pray for me. He stated that he follows my activities religiously, expressed certainty that my path is honorable, and said he is confident of my triumph.
Interestingly, this was my second meeting with Pastor Adeboye at the same venue. Our first meeting was in 1996, shortly after I completed my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). And met him while mobilizing the unlicensed against deadly campus cultism and the free reigns of cult gangs.
Thirty years later, we met again at the same place. I deeply appreciate the warm reception of members of the church, and our private conversation, and his prayers.
It is important to state that my visit was not intended to promote a political agenda.
