CITIZENS COMPASS— The Council Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, popularly known as HOA, on Monday, said every successful man or woman started their journey from the classroom, just as he said that teachers are the foundation on which the society is built.
Aroyewun disclosed this on the occasion of the 2026 Teacher’s Day celebration.
The Council Chairman felicitated with Nigerian teachers as they celebrated the day.
In a statement personally signed by Aroyewun, he said, “On this special day, I extend my warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to every teacher in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, across Lagos State, and Nigeria.
Teachers are the foundation on which our society is built. Every doctor, engineer, public servant, artisan, and leader first learned to read, reason, and dream in a classroom. Your patience, sacrifice, and quiet dedication shape the minds and character of our children, and through them, the future of our communities and our nation.
We know that your work often goes beyond the classroom. You counsel, mentor, encourage, and sometimes stand in as parents to the young people in your care. One day’s recognition does not measure your impact, but we want you to know that your efforts are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
As an administration, we remain committed to supporting the education sector and the welfare of those who serve in it, because investing in teachers is investing in the future of Igbogbo/Baiyeku. To our teachers, thank you for the guidance, the example you set, and the lessons you share with all of us every day.
May you be rewarded abundantly for your labour of love. Happy Teachers’ Day!
