ACAOSA 2000 marks 25th anniversary
CITIZENS COMPASS— The 2000 of the Anwar -Ul- Islam Model College,Old Students Association, (ACAOSA) has celebrated its 25th anniversary in grand style.
The event was held at the school premises, in Agege, Lagos State, over the weekend.
It aimed to entrench a bond and further foster unity among the members.
The Set exclusively had a breakfast session with their Senior Prefect, Jimoh Ibrahim (Teddy), as a form of homecoming, where they bonded.
The ceremony officially commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Rotimi Jimoh, President of the 2000 Set, who expressed his profound gratitude to all attendees for their presence.
Delivering the keynote address, The ACAOSA global President-General Abdulfatai Agboola Afolabi, Phd, emphasised the importance of unity, collaboration, and active participation in the association’s activities*. He outlined the Association’s vision, focusing on infrastructure development, human capacity building, and the enhancement of the Annual Ramadan Lecture Programme.
Accompanying the PG from the Global Executive Council were the VP 2, Mr. Rafiu Muhammed, and Global Assistant General Secretary, Mr. Badru Taofeeq.
In a special tribute, the PG, personally honored Principal Etti, anticipating that he would also be honoured by the ACAOSA GLOBAL under his administration for his contributions to the school during his tenure as the college principal having been honoured by 2 Sets of ACAOSA namely 1999 and 2000. The event featured a lively atmosphere, with the PG taking to the dance floor with the former Principal and the 2000 Set President, creating an unforgettable moment.
The invited teachers were awarded and with a cash gift of one hundred thousand naira each. Alh. Taofik Owolabi Folorunsho (T.O.F) Etti, the former Principal, was conferred with a Distinguished Leadership Award, while Mr. Rafiu Ibrahim (Economics Teacher), Mr. Dave (Agric Teacher), and Mr. Adedibu (English Literature Teacher) received Recognition Awards for their dedication and service. In a notable gesture, the Set’s 25th Anniversary Committee on behalf of the millennium class presented a Leadership Award to Mr. Rotimi Jimoh, in appreciation of his selfless service and tireless efforts in leading their set.
The event was a resounding success, with attendees engaging in lively discussions, reminiscing about old times, and forging new connections. The celebration served as a fitting tribute to the enduring bonds and shared commitment to excellence that define ACAOSA.
