CITIZENS COMPASS— The Adefaka Family of Isolo Kingdom on Friday, congratulated His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Edward Kolawole Adejoyegbe Adewole, Akesoogun Orisa Obaluaye Mosu, Osalade II, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, on the occasion of his eighth coronation anniversary, recently.
In a statement issued on Friday, June 19, 2026, by the Family’s Secretary and Public Relations Officer, Prince Bashir Adefaka, on behalf of Prince Babatunde Saliu Adefaka, the Olori Ebi/Chairman and the entire Adefaka Family, the royal family described the monarch as a visionary leader whose reign has significantly elevated the status and development of Isolo Kingdom over the past eight years.
According to the family, the former United States-based monarch has brought honour, progress, and recognition to Isolo Kingdom through purposeful leadership and dedication to the growth of the autonomous community.
The statement noted that while the relationship between Isolo Kingdom and the Deji of Akure had experienced challenges in the past, lasting peace was achieved following the Ondo State Government’s resolution of the issues on December 15, 2022, when the Osolo was formally presented with the Instrument of Office and Staff of Office as the recognised ruler of the autonomous Isolo Kingdom in Akure-speaking land.
The Adefaka Family further expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship that now exists among traditional rulers in Akure-speaking communities, particularly between the Osolo of Isolo and the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II.
“We have watched with keen interest the harmony and mutual respect that now characterise the relationship between the Deji of Akure and the Osolo of Isolo, just as it exists among other recognised traditional rulers within the Akure-speaking communities. This development has strengthened the traditional institution and enhanced the status of the Deji as the Paramount Ruler within a progressive nine-king structure of Akure South,” the statement said.
The family recalled the public remarks made by the Deji of Akure during the inauguration of a road project at Eru Oba, where, in the presence of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and other dignitaries, he expressed appreciation for the expanded traditional structure, noting that Akure had grown from three recognised monarchs to nine.
“As a branch of both the Akure and Isolo royal lineages, the Adefaka Family joins the Deji in expressing gratitude for the peace, unity, and cordial relationships now prevailing among Akure-speaking communities. We believe these achievements have strengthened our cultural heritage and fostered greater cooperation among our people.”
The family stated that while celebrating the remarkable achievements recorded by Oba Edward Kolawole Adewole in his eight years on the throne, it is equally important to acknowledge the role played by the Deji of Akure in sustaining peace and fostering harmonious coexistence among the various traditional institutions.
The statement concluded by wishing the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom many more years of fruitful reign in good health, strength, wisdom, and prosperity.
The Adefaka Family also expressed appreciation to the Ondo State Government for its intervention and support, which it said made the current atmosphere of peace, stability, and development possible.
