AFCON: Nigeria wins Angola at quarter final

CITIZENS COMPASS —The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday, February 2, 2024, knocked out Angola at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 with One goal to Zero.

This was courtesy of a 41st-minute goal from Nigeria’s leading goal scorer of the tournament, Ademola Lookman.
Nigeria had a second goal courtesy of star attacker, Victor Osimhen, but it was ruled fractionally offside.

The Match was the first-ever AFCON meeting between both African oil giants with Moses Simon emerging as the Man of the Match.

The lone goal from Ademola Lookman in the 41st minute gave Nigeria the lead and victory into the AFCON semi-finals.
The match took place at the 33,000-capacity Felix Houpho-Bolgry Stadium in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire.
