CITIZENS COMPASS— Barely three months after his assumption of office, the council chairman of Fufore Local Government Area, Adamawa State, Yahya Saidu, has passed on.
He died some months after his predecessor, Shuaibu Babas, passed away.
A Member, Federal House of Representatives representing the Fufore/Song Federal Constituency of the state, Aliyu Wakili, confirmed the death on Saturday.
The confirmation was done in a condolence message shared on his Facebook account.
Wakili said Saidu’s death was a major loss to Fufore and Adamawa State.
He prayed to Allah to grant him eternal rest and give those he left behind the strength to endure the loss.
According to him: His passing is a great loss to the people of Fufore and Adamawa State at large.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, friends, associates, and the entire people of Fufore the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) expressed grief over his death in a statement on Saturday.
The state ALGON chairman, Titus Obadiah, described Saidu as a dedicated leader whose service to Fufore and Adamawa State would be missed.
“It is with a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty God that I received the sad news of the passing of the executive chairman of Fufore Local Government Area, Dr. Yahaya Saidu,” the statement said.
