APC chairman escapes beating from party members

CITIZENS COMPASS –Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday May June 24 2024, attempted to beat up the State chairman of the party, Cornelius Ojelabi .

Reasons behind the attempt which took place at the Secretariat at Acme, Ikeja was attributed to the ongoing crisis in the Alimosho area of the State.

He was rescued by Policemen on duty.

The angry members were said to have removed Ojelabi’s cap to express their grievances over his stance on the leadership crisis rocking Alimosho Local Governments.

Eye witnesses’ accouns said they initially tabled a request before him which he vehemently opposed, a situation that did not augur well with the protesters who had earlier recommended that the party leadership in the state recognizes all former public office holders from the local government to House of Assembly to the House of Representatives in order to address the challenges bedeviling the peace and tranquility within the party.

However, the intervention of the inhouse security operatives prevened the situation from degenerating.
