CITIZENS COMPASS— A supposedly reconciliatory meeting among the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has turned sour Progressives Congress (APC) as the party chairman of the Ijumu Local Government Area, Oyewole Solomon, has reportedly died.
Solomon reportedly collapsed and died while the meeting was ongoing at Iyara Town Hall, Iyara, on Friday.
Confirming the death, the Kogi State APC Chairman, Aliyu Ezzu, described Solomon as a committed party leader whose contributions to the growth, stability and unity of the APC in Ijumu would not be forgotten.
Ezzu confirmed the death in a condolence message. He said, “Solomon’s sudden death had sent shock and sadness across the APC family in Ijumu Local Government and Kogi State.
“He was a dedicated party leader who played a significant role in strengthening the party and promoting unity among its members in the local government.”
Reports said after his collapse, Solomon was rushed to a medical facility in neighbouring Kabba where he was reportedly pronounced dead.
The exact cause of his death has not been officially disclosed.
