Aroyewun applauds CDC Zone 4, receives Monumental Award
CITIZENS COMPASS— The Council Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), on Sunday, applauded the Community Development Committee (CDC) Zone 4 in the area.
Aroyewun rated the Zone as the best so far.
The Council Chairman gave the applause at the maiden edition of the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Compendium, and Awards of CDC Zone 4 held at Maternity Health Care Centre along Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road.
He was awarded for monumental achievements in the Ikorodu Division.
Speaking, Aroyewun promised to support the Zone in the pursuit of its developmental goals.
The CDC Zone 4 is headed by a seasoned administrator, Prince Femi Adelaja who in his welcome address said the event put together within a short period had shown commendable commitment to grassroots development.
According to him: Zone 4 has continued to distinguish itself as a model of progress, resilience, and coordinated development within the Igbogbo/Baiyeku axis. These accomplishments are not accidental; they are the direct result of strong institutional synergy between the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, the Community Development Committee (CDC), and the various Community Development Associations (CDAs) within our zone.
Despite facing internal challenges, we have demonstrated capacity, maturity, and unity in resolving them, emerging stronger and more focused as a community.
It is important to highlight key developmental strides facilitated through the effective functionality of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Honourable Prince (Omo’ba) Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun. Within a short period in office, his administration has shown commendable commitment to grassroots development.
Notable achievements include:
The planned upgrade of the Baiyeku Maternity and Healthcare Centre into a modern medical facility with resident doctors, aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
The construction of a new Ilado Primary School equipped with modern learning facilities, reflecting a renewed investment in education.
The development of the Baiyeku Jetty, enhancing connectivity and economic activities within the riverine areas.
Ongoing infrastructural development, including the second phase of the Baiyeku Road project from the Fashola Housing Scheme.
Strategic improvements and facelift initiatives across key public infrastructure within the zone.
These achievements are clear indicators of purposeful governance and a responsive local administration working in alignment with community needs.
Equally commendable is the unwavering support of the royal institution. The leadership and moral guidance from the royal stool have continued to foster peace, stability, and unity across Igbogbo/Baiyeku, creating an enabling environment for development to thrive.
As a zone, we take pride not only in our developmental strides but also in our commitment to financial transparency and accountability. The management of resources within Zone 4 has been guided by prudence, openness, and collective responsibility. Every contribution—whether financial or material—has been judiciously utilised and properly accounted for, reinforcing trust among stakeholders and strengthening our governance structure.
I wish to sincerely appreciate all CDA Chairmen within Zone 4 for their unwavering moral and financial support, which has been instrumental in the successful execution of this AGM. Your dedication and unity of purpose made this event seamless and impactful.
My gratitude also extends to the various subcommittees whose diligence, sacrifice, and professionalism ensured the successful delivery of this programme. To my executive members, I say thank you for your cooperation and team- spirit. This achievement is a testament to what we can accomplish together.

As I stand before you today, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Chairman of Zone 4. The journey has been both challenging and enlightening, filled with valuable lessons. However, through it all, we give thanks to God Almighty for the progress we have made and the stronger, more united Zone 4 we are building.
On behalf of all CDA Chairmen, subcommittees, executive members, and the entire Zone 4 community, I sincerely thank you all for your presence, support, and your belief in our shared vision.
May God Almighty continue to guide, strengthen, and bless you in all your endeavours.
In his Key Note address, a former
Director of Community Service with Lagos State Government, Elder Oshin Adewale, harped on the theme, “Power of Unity as Road map to Community Development,”
Oshin urged residents to live peacefully with one another.
The event was anchored by CDC Zone 4 Secretary, Prince Lanre Obanisola who was among the awardees.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Tunde Momoh appreciated his team for making the Zone proud.
Citizens Compass reported that Aroyewun was nominated for rehabilitating the Maternity Health Care Centre and other notable achievements in the Zone.
59 other Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavours also receive awards at the event.
Recall that the AGM for the Zone was held yesterday.
Roll call for the day included former Igbogbo-Baiyeku CDC Chairman, Pastor Abayomi Adelakun, sitting CDC Chairman, Alhaji Razak Ibiyeye and Ward 3 Councillor, Hon. Saidat Adeoba among others.
