Aroyewun leads tour of Jimi Benson’s federal government’s projects

CITIZENS COMPASS— The Council Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun popularly known as (HOA), yesterday, led a tour of some federal government’s projects within his jurisdiction.

The multiple projects ranging from roads to classrooms were facilitated by the Senator representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Babajimi Benson.

Omo’ba Aroyewun led many stakeholders of the council to inspect and assess the project

The inspection tours offer residents firsthand assurance that projects facilitated by Hon. Babajimi Benson (JB) are not only approved on paper but actively progressing on the ground, with quality, durability, and community impact as core priorities.

Across several communities, ongoing road projects, facilitated by JB are steadily reshaping daily life. Streets once plagued by flooding and difficult access are now receiving proper drainage, solid pavement, and improved connectivity, opening up routes for traders, commuters, students, and emergency services. These roads collectively serve dozens of communities, strengthening economic activity and reducing the everyday stress of movement.

An attention was drawn to the Offin/Oreta Road, the largest road project currently ongoing in IBLCDA linking over 50 neighbouring communities.

Offin/Oreta Road stands as a critical lifeline connecting homes to markets, farms to buyers, and communities to essential services. Discussions on site focused on drainage integrity and long-term resilience, underscoring total quality governance and JB’s belief in sustainable infrastructure.

The inspection also spotlighted investment in education. At Salvation Army Primary School, Agunfoye, it was observed that a six-classroom building block facilitated by Hon Benson is taking shape. This promises a more conducive learning environment for the pupils of the school. JB has always been a champion of making young learners learn within well equipped school environments.

Addressing residents during the exercise, Omo’ba Aroyewun appreciated JB for the dedication and commitment to grassroots development within IBLCDA and Ikorodu Division, as whole. The chairman noted that the scale of visible, ongoing projects facilitated by Hon. Babajimi Benson across IBLCDA and the wider Ikorodu Division speaks louder than promises. The chairman also revealed that preparations are underway for a Federal Medical Centre in Igbogbo/Baiyeku, another major intervention expected to commence soon.

While using the opportunity to encourage eligible citizens to register with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing APC Party Registration exercise, Chairman Aroyewun highlighted JB’s facilitation of NIN enrollment machines.

The inspection drew a broad coalition of stakeholders, including development strategist, Mayor Deen Sanwo-ola; Director-General iCare Foundation; community and traditional leaders, including High Chief Taju Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo, Chief Ramoni Yusuf; Baale of Oreta; and notable political leaders including Alhaji Olawale Abdullahi. The stakeholders witnessed the progress of the landmark projects and they acknowledged governments’ renewed drive for grassroot development.

Key members of the Community Development Council (CDC), including Alh. Rasak Ibiyeye; CDC Chairman and many others.
