ZAMFARA STATE Police Command, on Thursday, confirmed the abduction of the father of the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly and seven others.
Spokesperson of the Command, Superintendent Shehu Mohammed, said the command had already deployed additional troops to the affected area to ensure the safe return of the victims.
The incident occured at Magarya village in the Zurmi Local Government area.
They were said to be abducted on Wednesday night when the heavily armed men invaded the community.
Meanwhile, the Speaker, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya was yet to comment on the incident at press time.
