Court judgement: Timothy Adegoke’s widow thanks Nigerians 

CITIZENS COMPASS – Bolatito  Adegoke, widow of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, who died mysteriously on November 5, 2021, at Hilton Hotel, Ile – Ife, Osun State has appreciated Nigerians for the judgement passed on the owner of the hotel and principal suspect,

She appeared on Agidigbo FM, on Wednesday, June 1, 2023, with her three children. 

In her words, “I seize this opportunity to thank everyone who stood by me, especially Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat,

Barrister Femi Falana( SAN), the Chief Justice of Osun State  Justice Adepele Ojo and many others.

She prayed for them all. She said  ” I have lost hope. When I heard the judgment while in the church I screamed and those who heard me   thought I won a visa lottery but I told them that Almighty God has done what no man can do.

“if I rolled on the floor thanking God for the judgment”. She faced Alhaji Oriyomi who is the Managing Director of Agidigbo FM who Championed the cause and said “It is not enough to appreciate you but I am here to tell you that I appreciate you.

” My husband went out with an open mind, unfortunately, he went on a journey of no return.

“She debunked the insinuations of some rumour peddlers  that she didn’t want to work and preferred to be   a full housewife,she said ” I am a University Graduate and major in Education.I also have National Certificate in Education (NCE). 

“I am a teacher by profession  but my husband didn’t want me to work as he wanted  me to take care of his children. However , I used to be a petty trader but my husband asked me to stop it because of the meager income and I obeyed him. I am a teacher by  profession, if I get a good job, I am ready to do it”, she said.”

Recall that Osun State High Court found the hotel owner guilty in the murder case of Timothy,

The Osun Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, while delivering her judgement on the case, held that the circumstantial evidence available to the court, pointed to the killing of Adegoke while being a guest at the hotel owned by Adedoyin.

One of the receptionists at the Hilton Hotel, was allegedly murdered, Miss Magdalene Chiefuna, yesterday, told the Osun State High Court, Osogbo , how the lifeless body of Adegoke was discovered inside his hotel room.

Chiefuna, an undergraduate of OAU, who was working as a receptionist at the hotel, to support herself financially,  told the court that the room 30  which Adegoke lodged was locked when she took over duty on November 6, 2021. She said the door to the room was knocked several times when Adegoke wasn’t seen, but there was no response.

She explained that she had to use a spare key to open Adegoke’s room before she discovered his body lying on the floor and wrapped in a duvet.
