Driver, two others die in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident 

A FATAL accident  which occurred at GOFAMINT in the Ogunmakin area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, on Tuesday night, has claimed the lives of three people and injured another.

 

The Ogun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ahmed Umar disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

 

Umar said the incident occurred at 10:55 p.m. and it involved a mini truck (van) marked — YYY 457 YY and a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number — DUI 187 FST.

 

On the cause of the accident, the FRSC boss explained that speeding and route violation by the truck driver led to a head-on collision with the bus.

 

“A total of six persons were involved including  four male and two female adults. One person was injured while two women and the driver of the bus died in the accident,” he said.

 

Umar stated that the injured victim was taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, while the deceased were deposited at the FOS morgue, Ipara.

 

The sector commander, therefore, pleaded with motorists to drive cautiously, and always avoid route violations, especially at night.
