CITIZENS COMPASS —A female soldier serving in Lagos State, had, in a viral video, alleged threats to life and oppression by some senior army officers.

The video claimed that this was because she rejected their sexual advances.

She identified the suspects as Col. IB Abdulkareem, Col. GS Ogor and Brig. Gen. IB Solebo alleging that the oppression was dated back to Year 2022 when she was redeployed to Cantonment Medical Centre, Ojo, Lagos in 2022.

According to her, she had been locked up several times for no reason, ejected from her apartment, locked up in a psychiatric hospital for a month without any medication with a claim that she had mental illness and her account frozen since February 2023 without salary for no reason.

Reacting, the Army in a statement on its official X page, said it was investigating the allegations.

It urged Nigerians to refrain from making hasty judgments, adding that it remains dedicated to serving the nation with honor and integrity.

“We assure members of the public that the Nigerian Army as an institution is committed to upholding the integrity and morals of its personnel and as such appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
