CITIZENS COMPASS— As part of its continued charitable commitment to equipping underserved Nigerians with practical competencies in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Cybersecurity, the Help Hub Empowerment Foundation, yesterday, unveiled a free digital skills seminar tagged “Future Ready,”
- The unveiling was held in Ikeja, Lagos State.
According to the foundation, the initiative was a deliberate move to bridge the widening skills gap in the country’s fast-evolving tech landscape.
The Founder, Mrs Modupe Onabanjo, disclosed this while unveiling details of the one-day programme, describing it as a gesture of goodwill and a timely intervention that would prepare Nigerians, especially the youth and less privileged, for the realities of an increasingly digital global economy.

Mrs Onabanjo said, “The digital age is changing how we work, create, solve problems and build opportunities. This seminar is our own way of giving back and making sure that students, professionals, entrepreneurs, career changers and even the simply curious are not left behind as the world moves forward.”
She noted that the choice of focus areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Cybersecurity was deliberate, given their growing relevance to virtually every sector of the economy, from finance and healthcare to media, agriculture and governance.
According to her, equipping citizens at no cost with foundational knowledge in these areas was consistent with the Foundation’s core mandate of empowering others to succeed, and would ultimately strengthen the nation’s overall digital competitiveness.
Giving further details, Mrs Onabanjo explained that the Future Ready Seminar is two structured sessions made possible through the goodwill and support of technical facilitators.
The first session, a Data Science and AI Training session, is scheduled to run from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. This will be followed by a one-hour networking break, before the second session, a Cybersecurity Training, commences by 6:00 p.m and runs through 9:00 p.m.
She emphasised that both sessions have been carefully packaged to accommodate participants regardless of their prior technical background, stressing that the training would focus on practical, hands-on knowledge rather than abstract theory, at absolutely no cost to attendees.
On the cost of participation, Mrs Onabanjo confirmed that registration for the seminar is entirely free, in keeping with the Foundation’s philanthropic mission of accessible empowerment for all.
She disclosed that interested individuals can register via a link already made available by the organisation, and encouraged prospective participants not to wait until the last minute, as slots may be limited.
The Foundation’s Founder also used the opportunity to charge Nigerians, particularly young people and professionals seeking to remain relevant in their fields, to take advantage of such free capacity-building platforms rather than assume the digital transformation sweeping through industries would wait for them.
“Don’t just watch the future unfold. Build the skills to be part of it,” she said, describing the seminar as one of several planned charitable interventions by the Foundation aimed at strengthening human capital development across underserved communities in the country.
The Help Hub Empowerment Foundation, which operates under the motto “Helping Others Succeed,” reiterated its dedication to grassroots empowerment through free skills acquisition, mentorship and community-driven initiatives.
