
Four rescued as three-storey building collapses in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS—Four people were on Thursday, rescued when a three-storey building collapsed in the Adeniji-Adele area of Lagos State.
The victims were two males and females as confirmed by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in his Situation Report.
The collapse occurred in the wee hours, at 2/4, Asesi Lane, Sasi Lane, (SASI Palace), Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island.
Osanyintolu said, “Upon arrival at the incident scene, it was observed that a three-storey residential building had collapsed. *The cause of the collapse is unknown. Four people (2males and 2females) have been rescued by first responders and taken to the hospital.
“Search and rescue operations have commenced to rescue the trapped victims in the collapsed building.
“Emergency responders at the incident scene are LASEMA, LASAMBUS, Lagos State Fire Service, LNSC, LASTMA and NPF.
“Cappa Base has been contacted for the deployment of the Agency’s excavator.”
As at the time of filing this report, Osanyintolu said operations were ongoing
