FRSC Commander cautions Lagosians on railways crossing rules

CITIZENS COMPASS- THE Lagos State Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Babatunde Farinloye, has visited the scene of crash involving a moving train and the Lagos State staff bus at PWD railway crossing along Agege Motor Road.

Suprintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, in her updates on Thursday, March 9, 2023, said, “The Command said the crash involved a Lagos State Government Staff Marcopolo bus with number plate 04A-48LA and a moving train on Thursday along Agege Motor Road corridor at 7.45 a.m.

Farinloye said that the bus was conveying 80 passengers as at time of the crash while four four adults occupants have been confirmed dead.

According to him, the remaining occupants sustained varying degree of injuries and are receiving treatment at LASUTH Ikeja.

He commiserates with the families of the dead and also wishes the injured quick recovery and the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Sector Commander commended all first responders like FRSC, Nigeria Police, LASEMA, LASTMA for prompt rescue of the victims and promised that the crash will be investigated.

He said, “The Commissioner of Police CP Idowu Owohunwa, addressing the newsmen alongside Heads of Agencies present at the crash scene confirmed the incident and admonished motorists to always give way to train at all railway level crossing.

 

“Olohunwa said the injured victims were receiving treatment at LASUTH.
