CITIZENS COMPASS— The Safer Society for Children (SSC) Foundation in collaboration with the Elegant Nurses Forum (ENF) on Sunday demanded for justice for a young female student who was gang-raped by four suspects in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
The group on Sunday, petitioned well-meaning Nigerians to ensure justice for the victim.
The petition, signed by a representative of the groups, Amb. Kunle Sodipo, and dated Sunday, March 22, 2026, was titled, ‘Urgent petition to all well-meaning Nigerians.”
It reads: The Safer Society for Children (SSC) Foundation, hereby join forces with the Elegant Nurses Forum (ENF) to demand justice for the young female student who was brutally gang-raped by four suspects in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
The Nigeria Police Force has failed to protect the victim, instead exposing her to further harm and humiliation. The officers at Igbeba Police Station have breached confidentiality, disclosed the victim’s address, and allowed the suspects’ parents to intimidate and bribe the family into silence.
This is not just a case of rape; it’s a case of institutional betrayal. The police, who are meant to protect and serve, have become enablers of injustice. If this can happen to one of our own, it can happen to anyone. Someone else’s daughter today, God forbid, it may be another person’s daughter tomorrow.
The groups listed their demands thus:
•Immediate investigation and prosecution of the four alleged rapists: Kalu Prosper, Oche Destiny, Adamu Paul, and Adewusi Qudus.
•Investigation and prosecution* of the alleged corrupt police personnel at Igbeba Police Divisional Headquarters, Ijebu-Ode, and all other culpable elements involved.
•Protection* for the victim and her family from further harassment and intimidation.
•Transparency and regular updates on the progress of the case.
We call on all Nigerians to stand with us in demanding justice for this brave young woman. Let us unite to say #NoToRape and #NoToCorruption.
