CITIZENS COMPASS— A former National Youth Leader of the coalition party, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Honorable Sultan Ahmed Bello, has narrated his involvement in destabilising the party.
In a recent post on his X Handle formerly known as Twitter, Sultan Bello narrated this while apologising to members of the public about the involvement.
He expressed regret for conniving with his cousin to destabilising the party.
According to him: Today, I want to sincerely apologize to all members and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for my role in conspiring with my cousin, Nafi’u Bala Gombe, in actions that contributed to the crisis and instability within our great party while serving as the National Youth Leader of his faction.
What I did was wrong, and I fully acknowledge that. The most important thing now is that I have realized my mistakes, accepted responsibility, and made the decision never to be part of such actions again. Growth comes with accountability, and I believe admitting one’s wrongs is the first step toward making things right.
I also want to extend my heartfelt apologies to respected leaders and stakeholders of our party, including David Mark, Babachir Lawal, Atiku Abubakar, Abubakar Malami, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, and many others who have continued to stand for peace, truth, and the unity of the ADC.
I am grateful that they accepted my apology and advised me to always stand on the side of truth and never again conspire with anyone to undermine the progress of the party or the democratic process.
After careful reflection, I have aligned myself with the faction led by Senator David Mark because it represents the legitimate and truthful path forward for the ADC. Nafi’u Bala himself knows, just as I do, that he resigned from his position as Deputy National Chairman of the ADC.
Going forward, I am committed to playing a positive role in resolving this crisis. There will be a major development from me very soon, and by the grace of God, I will be among those who will help bring this ADC problem to an end once and for all.
I also seek forgiveness from all Nigerians who may have been disappointed by my actions and involvement with Nafi’u Bala Gombe. I have learned valuable lessons from this experience, and I am choosing the path of peace, truth, and unity.
May God guide us all and strengthen our democracy.
— Hon. Sultan Ahmed Bello, Former National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)
