CITIZENS COMPASS— A female police officer, Olawale Rhoda, yesterday, cried out for help following her ordeal at the hands of an Alhaji.
Olawale who narrated her ordeal in a viral video said dying by suicide may be her last option except something drastic is done.
The female officer claimed to be a resident of Igbogbo Police Barracks, Ikorodu Division in Lagos State where she has resided for 20 years.
Olawale said she was four years pregnant for the Alhaji.
She also claimed she is seriously sick and was unable to cope with her job.
Apart from the pregnancy, the mother of three grown-up children said that she may become homeless as her apartment at the Police barracks urgently requires rehabilitation.
According to her: I need assistance from all Nigerians due to a significant challenge that is confronting me, which I should not be overwhelmed by. I have kept quiet for a long time but can’t continue like this.
I was advised to speak to enable me to get a solution to my problem.
Only God knows whether someone has placed a curse on this profession. I have been very sick for some time because a man I was going out with took advantage of me.
I got pregnant four years ago and informed Alhaji about it and he gave me money on various occasions: On many occasions, he gave me N40,000 or N50,000 and the pregnancy kept growing but delivery was impossible.
Everywhere I went for spiritual assistance, I was told that Alhaji was behind my problem. I was told to speak out, or else my predicament would persist.
That is why I am. speaking out to enable me to get out of this bondage.
I nolonger go to work because I am very sick. I have been living in Igbogbo Barracks for the past 20 years.
I am a mother of three and presently, my apartment needs rehabilitation as the apartment urgently needs to be rehabilitated.
Alhaji boasted that the Nigeria Police Force is under his control and nobody could toy with him.
During one of my arguments with him, four policemen drove in and as I was contemplating approaching them to narrate my ordeal, they exchanged pleasantries with Alhaji who immediately ordered his manager to give them N50,000 for entertainment.
I need your moral and financial support because I am sick and my current accommodation is nothing to write home about.
Recall that in April 2023, the then Inspector General of Police(IGP) Usman Baba, announced his efforts toward renovation, demolition, and rebuilding of dilapidated structures in police barracks across Nigeria.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the then Force Public Relations Officer, made this known during a press conference which was held at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
Thousands of Police personnel and their relatives have been sent packing from some police barracks, the efforts to reconstruct or modernise the barracks have been jeopardised.
