Igbogbo-Baiyeku chairman, Aroyewun marks birthday with commissioning of road projects

CITIZENS COMPASS— The Council Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, Omo’ba Hamed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), yesterday, marked his birthday with the commissioning of Oliwo Amoju and Olayinka road projects in the area.

The occasion drew dignitaries from far and wide particularly from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on which platform Aroyewun came onboard in July 2025.

The two strategic road projects powered with solar street lights were commissioned by a one-time Secretary to the Lagos State Government and Member, Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Asiwaju Oorunfunmi Basorun.

In his welcome address, Aroyewun thanked the attendees and party leaders for making the event possible.

He said the interconnected street was reconstructed in fulfillment of his promises to his constituents.

The Council Chairman promised not to renege in uplifting the standard of IBLCDA interms of infrastructural facilities.

Aroyewun who commended his team for believing in him said the every nook and cranny of IBLCDA would witness transformation.

According to him: The entire management team of Igbogbo-Baiyeku will not lower the standard in which they met the local government, in terms of progression, infrastructural amenities and good governance to our people.

We are in the era where transformation is being witnessed across Ikorodu Division and IBLCDA will not be left behind.” He said.

HOA applauded the efforts of APC leaders and youths saying “I am blessed with brilliant minds.” Special thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the Local Government Autonomy.

The House of Representatives Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Benson, rejoiced with Aroyewun on the occasion of his birthday while assuring the people of Igbogbo-Baiyeku that more dividends of democracy were in the pipeline.

Benson, widely known as Julius Berger of Ikorodu congratulated the entire residents of IBLCDA for their unwavering support for the party.

In attendance was the Adeboruwa and traditional ruler of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Emugoriade I and a host of others including a former Minister for Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe.

A representative of Oliwo community, Mr Olayinka Oyediran, implored the chairman to keep doing the good work noting that the people of the community would try their best in ensuring that the project would be put into Good use.

The Legislative arm of the council was led by Princess Banjoko Adetutu.

The event was spiced by cutting of the birthday cake.
