Lagos traders protest economic hardship 

... Lament hunger 

CITIZENS COMPASS —Some traders  in Lagos State, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, staged a protest against economic hardship and the rising cost of living in the country.

The protest took place in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos, with some of the protesters carrying placards with various inscriptions like, “Baba Tinubu, Nigerians are hungry, ” and ‘Tinubu, come and rescue us”, among others.

Recently, protests erupted in Abuja, Osun and Kano states where protesters took to the streets against hunger in the country. 

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a statement said the government have would embark on various projects to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerians 

Recall that since the removal of the petrol subsidy in May 2023, prices of commodities in the country have skyrocketed. 

Efforts to reach Iyaloja – General of Nigeria, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo were unsuccessful as calls to her mobile phone were unattended to.
