CITIZENS COMPASS– TRADERS across Lagos State, on Tuesday, embarked on a solidarity rally in support of Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The rally was also organised in support of Tinubu’s running mate, Kashim Shettima, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.
The traders were led by the Iyaloja -General of Nigeria, Mrs Folasade Tinubu- Ojo with other market leaders in attendance.
The traders converged on 7up/Toll Gate before walking to the Government House, ShopRite and finally the Blue Roof, Agidingbin where the traders were entertained with local drums and music.
Some of the traders told Citizens Compass that the walk was to show their loyalty to the candidates.
Market leaders across Lagos were in attendance.
The Iyaloja-General charged the traders to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to enable them deliver a block vote during the elections.
Meanwhile, there were allegations that some traders were forced to close their shops, stalls and kick lambs to participate in the walk.
However, one of the market leaders said the walk was voluntary.
