CITIZENS COMPASS—Notable thespians like Fausat Balogun popularly known as Madam Saje, her colleague, Yinka Quadri, and many others on Monday, wept uncontrollably as a popular actor, Taiwo Hassan popularly known as Ogogo was laid to rest in Ogun State.
‘Ogogo’ was laid to rest according to Islamic rites in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, at about 10:50a.m.
The 67-years-old Balogun, Yinka Quadri and others were seen weeping uncontrollably and mourning their departed colleague.
At the venue, Madam Saje was seen in tears handling a microphone on behalf of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) as she prayed for the repose of the soul of Taiwo Hassan while Yinka Quadri was also captured wiping his tears with a handkerchief.
Also present at the burial were Pince Jide Kosoko and Ireti Osayemi.
Ogogo’s body, wrapped in white clothing, was carried in accordance with Islamic burial traditions before he was laid to rest.
Recall that Hassan died on Sunday after battling cancer. His daughter, Kira, announced his death during an Instagram Live session.
Hassan died at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the age of 66, according to a burial announcement by veteran actor Jide Kosoko.
