CITIZENS COMPASS— The Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Noheem Adams yesterday, officially declared his intention to contest for another term in the Eti-Osa Constituency I seat in 2027.

Adams, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Business Rules, made this known while addressing party faithful, supporters and community leaders during the declaration in Lagos.

Adams, a second-term lawmaker, said his declaration was sequel to his endorsement on Monday as the party’s consensus candidate for the Eti-Osa Constituency-01 by the leaders of the party.

The Citizen Compass reports that the rally drew an overwhelming crowd of APC loyalists, residents, youths, women groups, and political stakeholders, further reinforcing Adams’s growing popularity and strong acceptance across the constituency ahead of the party primaries.

The event witnessed the presence of several influential political figures and party leaders within the constituency,

Addressing party faithful, Adams said the agreement to adopt him as the party’s consensus candidate in the forthcoming primary election was because of his performance, commitment and leadership in the assembly.

According to him, based on popular demand I have been given an endorsement letter by the party leaders to run for another term in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Eti-Osa Constituency-01.

He said: “I want to thank all my constituents especially all the traditional rulers, the youths and the APC members here for their endorsement ahead of the primary election this month.

“It seems surprising to me and I don’t know how it happens. About a month ago, the party had a central committee of leaders and they called me to explain to all the leaders what I have done within three years at the Lagos Assembly.

“I explain to them several developmental projects, including infrastructure and economic empowerment I have embarked on in my constituency. So my endorsement is a way to show that I am available and accessible to my people.

“They send the endorsement letter to all my leaders from the central working committee namely Chief Mofi Adetoro, Chief R.A.Alli, Chief Yaya Dosunmu, Mr Yisa Imam.

” Others from all local governments under my constituency including the LGA ward chairmen all signed my letter of endorsement sent to the party to say this is the person they want.”

Adams said he also made the leaders understand that the constituency was the most beneficial of the dividends of democracy in the state and Nigeria as of today.

He said they asked him what did he mean, he answered them that the President of Nigeria, Eti-Osa was his constituency,; he lives here with them, hence the first thing he did as the president was to construct a coastal road for them

The majority leader said they had witnessed traffic logjam from Lekki-Epe express road for more than five years, adding that this day he could report officially that they cannot witness any traffic anywhere in the area courtesy of the president.

“Secondly is to thank our governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, I always speak to him about the challenges we are facing in our constituency and he always assured me not to worry.

“So the governor has attended to several of our cries and challenges in this area today starting from the rehabilitation of the Lekki-Epe expressway which is almost completed.

“Now we have a Solar Light that is already completed, we have it on the Lekki-Epe express road and from the Abraham Adesanya Road to Epe, we now have a completed road.

“This is for us to enjoy a smooth drive, today we are enjoying peaceful coexistence courtesy of the President, the governor and the Speaker Mudashiru Obasa because without appropriation by the Assembly we cannot have all these projects carried out.”

Adams said his people had said that a vote for him in the 2027 general election was also a vote for Dr Obafemi Hamzat and a vote for President Bola Tinubu.

The majority leader assured the president that this time around in 2027, the party would win in a landslide for the presidential, governorship, senatorial, house of representatives and assemblies elections in the state.

Citizen Compass reports that this announcement follows a flurry of recent declarations from other Lagos lawmakers for the 2027 polls, including Mr Stephen Ogundipe (Oshodi-Isolo I) and Desmond Elliot (Surulere I).

Several other Lagos assembly members are also angling for re-election, as APC leaders in the state begin to solidify their teams for the 2027 electoral cycle.
