Mob burns man to death for allegedly stealing Okada

CITIZENS COMPASS – A mob has allegedly set ablaze a yet-to-be identified  middle-aged man who was accused of stealing a motorcycle popularly known as Okada in Delta State. 

The incident occurred over the weekend, in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the State. 

Locals said cases of robbery had persisted in the area despite frequent arrest of suspects.

It was gathered that residents decided to take matters into their own hands by enforcing jungle justice on the victim.

The gory picture of the remains of the man  was shared on Facebook by an indigene of the town.

A source in the area described the capital punishment as sad, but quickly added that the measure was inevitable as residents were frequently robbed of their valuables.

According to the source, the measure would serve as a deterrent to others who refused to turn a new leaf.

Contacted, spokesperson, Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe confirmed the incident in a chst with Citizens Compass but said no arrests have been made.
