CITIZENS COMPASS— The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, on Wednesday, revealed a new twist to the ongoing investigations about the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Walson-Jack distanced her office from the operations of the “fake presidential agency”.
controversial Presidential Foreign insisting that no approval was given for office accommodation, staff deployment or organisational structure for the body.
She made the clarification while appearing before the House of Representatives committee investigating the activities of the PFIPC and its purported Director-General, Adeyemi Adeniyi.
According to her: “We are happy to state that all that we said regarding the issue of deployment, I just summarised that there was no deployment; the issues as regards office accommodation, we did not give office accommodation; the issues as regards organisational structure, we did not issue any organisational structure,” she said.
Walson-Jack added that while those issues had already been clarified, her office also needed to explain matters relating to the alleged unauthorised establishment of the council and the issuance of a recruitment waiver.
“I was here earlier and all that we said we still stand by what we said, but I do believe that a few more details will clarify these issues,” she told the committee.
“The issue that I believe we need to clarify is the issue of unauthorised establishment and the issuance of a recruitment waiver. If you kindly indulge me, I would like to take that portion that we have not earlier stated, and I will also give some more detailed explanation.”
The House of Representatives is currently probing the activities of the PFIPC following allegations surrounding its operations and leadership.
